His first acquisitions were films such as The Crying Game and The Mask.. When Meteor Film was taken over by Polygram he was asked to become head of acquisitions for Polygram International in England. There, San Fu Maltha bought films like Twelve Monkeys and Trainspotting for various countries.
Back in the Netherlands he started the production company Fu Works with which he associate produced Naar de Klote with Tygo Gernandt and Thom Hoffman and co-produced Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) with Taylor Hackford (An Officer and A Gentleman and The Devil's Advocate), an English language coming-of-age film. Besides that he was, as general director of RCV, responsible for the release of Seven Years in Tibet (including a premiere with Brad Pitt in attendance) and the acquisition and release in the Netherlands of, among others, Scream 1 & 2, The English Patient, Blade, Leaving Las Vegas, Secrets and Lies, Good Will Hunting, La Vita E Bella and She's all That.
In May, 1999 he left RCV to, through Fu Works, co-produce the film Rent A Friend with Nadja Hupscher, and to executive produce The Delivery with Fedja van Huêt. In december 1999 he was called by Paul Ruven - the director of Filmpje with Paul de Leeuw - to ask him if he was interested in producing a film with Johan Nijenhuis (Costa!). In the meantime, San Fu set up A-Film Distribution with Pim Hermeling, that has or will distribute films like Magnolia, All About My Mother, Chicken Run and Lord of the Rings.
In Belgium he has a production company named Terras with Julian Vrebos. Other than that Fu Works has a development company by the name of A-Lab with the production companies Motel, Phanta Vision, Rebel, and Two Independent.
