De Stille Kracht - The Hidden Force

The story of THE HIDDE FORCE takes place in the the year 1900 on the island Java in the Dutch East Indies. Overwhelming nature with rivers, mountains and active vulcanoes. It is a story about chasm between Westerners and warm-blood Orientals. The decline and fall of the Dutch resident Van Oudyck is caused by his inability to see firther than is Western rationalism. He is blind and deaf to the slumbering powers of the East Indian people and countryside. The black magic, bird calls, heat and the mysterious, hostile attitude of the Javanese subjects prove stronger than the cool power of the colonials.
